SCARPA on the podium at the World Climbing Europe Championship in Barcelona: gold for Oriane Bertone, silver for Hannes Van Duysen
Six SCARPA athletes reached the finals of the continental boulder championship, delivering a European title and three medals across the women's and men's categories.
Asolo, 23 July 2026 – The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the historic Formula 1 track, hosted the 2026 World Climbing Europe Championship from 17 to 19 July, with this edition awarding the continental title in Boulder — the Lead and Speed finals will take place in Laval, France, from 28 to 30 August. SCARPA athletes once again proved their strength on the international stage, reaching six finals and claiming three podium finishes across the men's and women's competitions.
The standout result of the weekend was the European title won by Oriane Bertone in the women's event, while Hannes Van Duysen secured the silver medal, with bronze won by Samuel Richard in the men's.
For the French climber, already a two-time World Championship silver medallist, it marks a clear step up from the bronze medal she won at the 2022 European Championships.
Jennifer Eucharia Buckley reached the final to finish sixth, asserting her place in the international field.
Hannes Van Duysen took silver behind Great Britain's Maximilian Milne, who claimed the title with 74.8 points.
Samuel Richard completed the men's podium with bronze, continuing his consistent performance throughout the season.
