The Valposchiavo becomes a spectacular Alpine stage for NOVA Eroica in Switzerland

18th February 2026 – The NOVA Eroica family continues to grow. After Tuscany, the Prosecco Hills, Gran Sasso, Istria and Ivrea, a new and distinctive cycling and cultural experience joins the calendar: the remarkable Alpine landscape of the Valposchiavo. Each NOVA Eroica event offers a different experience and an invitation to explore.

As always, the sporting challenge, with enjoyable timed segments, is combined with a strong sense of community, conviviality and the unmistakable Eroica spirit. Far from traditional competitive models, the event is designed both for gravel riders keen to push on the pedals and for more “hedonistic” cyclists, attentive to landscapes, encounters and culture.

Three routes of varying length and difficulty allow riders to immerse themselves in the Swiss mountains. The short route develops along the valley floor, offering views of the lake, rural landscapes and the area’s historic architecture. The medium and long routes unfold on gravel roads, featuring more demanding climbs and panoramic sections through centuries-old conifer forests, among Alpine peaks and glaciers.

All routes cross the valley’s valuable organic farming areas, a symbol of the region, and offer striking views of the Bernina railway line, home of the famous red train, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the iconic circular viaduct of Brusio.

There is also space for a rich programme of side events. Participants can enjoy moments of conviviality and discover local products bearing the “100% Valposchiavo” label during the opening aperitif on Friday evening or the Saturday dinner. On Sunday morning, 14 June, the programme includes several activities, such as a guided visit to the organic herb fields of the Raselli farm, a boat trip on Lake Poschiavo with aperitif, and a family-friendly bicycle treasure hunt.

Thanks to its Alpine topography, the variety of gravel roads and a strong cultural identity, Nova Eroica Switzerland strengthens the positioning of the Valposchiavo as a destination of excellence for sustainable active tourism.
