SCARPA introduces ALIEN 5.0: the full carbon race boot designed for optimum performance in competitive ski mountaineering.

Lightness, reliability and race efficiency remain, whilst a color restyle reinvents the identity of a benchmark in the Alpine Touring Race segment.

Asolo, February 19, 2026 – In a year marking a historic milestone for ski mountaineering on the international stage, SCARPA introduces ALIEN 5.0, the aesthetic evolution of its carbon race boot developed for elite-level competition.

Used and tested by some of the top athletes on the international circuit this season, ALIEN 5.0 is the result of a well-established technical project designed for maximum performance in skimo racing.

ALIEN 5.0 helps athletes stand out within the highly specialized environment of ski mountaineering races. The new version fully retains the technical structure and engineering solutions that have made the Alien line a benchmark in the category, and introduces a restyle featuring a new colorway and a bold logo, elevating the product’s visual identity.

Designed exclusively for racing, ALIEN 5.0 is a high performance Alpine Touring Race boot with a full carbon construction. With a weight of just 610 grams per boot, it delivers optimum uphill efficiency and immediate power transmission on the descent. The carbon fiber shell and cuff, featuring a 3D Core honeycomb structure, provide high torsional rigidity and thermal insulation, whilst maintaining a very wide range of motion. The ergonomic design follows the natural shape of the leg, while the lowered upper flaps contribute to a progressive distribution of pressure over the instep while skiing.

As for closure and retention, the BOA® Fit System ensures precise and reliable micro-adjustment in extreme conditions. In addition, the Speed Lock System Lite ski/walk mechanism allows for quick transitions from walking to skiing mode with a single movement, improving transition times. The attachment point is designed to reduce the buildup of snow and ice.

ALIEN 5.0 is completed by a Lite Shield Tech gaiter made of spandex and nylon fibers, designed to adapt to different foot volumes and provide total protection from snow, as well as the Race 4.0 SL thermoformable Intuition liner to facilitate entry and provide a comfortable fit.

Developed with and for those who experience racing as the ultimate expression of performance, the details of ALIEN 5.0 are entirely focused on efficiency, precision, and speed.
